The violent wreck of a car that may have flown off the Foothill 210 Freeway and crashed onto S. Michillinda Ave. below resulted in the deaths of three people Sunday night.
Pasadena police Lt. Rudy Lemos said officers responding to Michillinda Ave. just south of Arboleda Street at 8:27 p.m. found the victims inside an automobile.
Video from the scene shows a single car, overturned and mangled.
Two of the victims were dead at the scene, according to Pasadena city spokesperson Lisa Derderian.
A third patient was transported to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, Derderian said.
A witness reported that the car went off the freeway and landed [near] the intersection of Michillinda Avenue and East Colorado Boulevard, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball told City News Service.
The names of the victims have been withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
Michillinda Avenue between Colorado Blvd. and Foothill Blvd. will likely remain closed until early Monday morning as California Highway Patrol officers investigate the crash.
The cause of the crash is not confirmed at this time.
