Three men were arrested Saturday for allegedly trying to steal a car, police said.
At about 5:40 p.m. Saturday, Pasadena Police Department officers were on patrol in the 200 block of East Del Mar Boulevard, said PPD Lt. Chris Russ. They noticed a man, later identified as Rafael Camacho, 19, of Los Angeles, tampering with the door lock of a 1989 Toyota Corolla, Russ said. When the car alarm went off the officers made a U-turn and discovered that Camacho, Jeremy Salazar, 20, of Los Angeles, and a 17-year-old male Los Angeles resident were trying to steal the car, Russ said.
All three men were arrested and are being held on suspicion of attempted grand theft auto. The vehicle’s owner, a female Los Angeles resident, was not at the scene at the time of the attempted theft, but was later located and notified.
