Five Acres, a foster/adoption, residential and community-based mental/behavioral health charity, is hosting child welfare advocates and its supporters at Sunsets in Santorini: Five Acres’ Annual Gala on Saturday, May 2. Held in the spectacular Mediterranean home of Diane and John Vidalakis in Pasadena, the event will raise funds to support the more than 10,000 children and families it serves annually.

“Inspired by the beautiful blue and white of the Greek Isles, this night of gourmet food, cocktails, music and dancing will reflect the charity’s love and support for the over 20,000 children living in foster care within our cities, needing permanent family solutions,” said Jennifer Berger, Five Acres’ chief advancement officer, adding that guests will be treated to live entertainment with dancers and Past Action Heroes, an 80s and 90s cover band.

Working tirelessly to create a multi-faceted experience for its guests, the gala sponsorship committee has secured amazing live auction vacation destinations. These items include: Cabo San Lucas for one week with airfare to explore the exciting water-based activities and hopping nightlife; Casa Del Mar near Cabo to discover the natural beauty of Chileno Beach and Costa Azul Beach; Vail Condominium, your gateway to winter sports; a Newport home for a delightful staycation; an adventure trip to Mammoth, and a Montana home to relish the breathtaking wide-open skies.

Leading the gala sponsorship committee are Co-Chairs Don Boline and Mimi Carter, who have brought all-star volunteers together to support this event: Auction Co-Chairs Kathleen Green and Shoshana Puccia; Opportunity Co-Chairs Natalie Bazarevitsch, Trish Gonzales & Nicole Rasic; and additional committee members Jennifer Berger, Andie Burke, Renee Chang, Chelby Crawford, Michele Doll, Tami Gittleman, Sheila Grether-Marion, Kirsten Hansen, Brandon Ito, Dawn Kim, Kelley Bannon Lashley, Heather Lillard, Celeste Liversidge, Sue McGuirl, Matt McIntyre, Mariann Nolan, Kris Ordaz, Chris Selak, Erin Sloan, Emily Street, and Erica Tejeda.

“By supporting Five Acres’ critical programs including foster care, adoption, therapeutic residential care and mental health care for at-risk families, you can help stem the tide of children entering the foster system,” said Boline and Carter. “Your generosity will directly connect children in need with safe, permanent families of their own. Let’s transform what home looks like for kids in Southern California.”
