Today, the Tournament of Roses hosted the first-ever virtual Rosebud Parade, featuring homemade floats.

The motivation? In a statement, the Tournament explained that “while our staff and volunteer members are diligently working on the 2021 Rose Parade® presented by Honda, we thought we’d have a little fun along the way.”

“When we first imagined this Rosebud Parade, we hoped we could inspire creativity, as well as bring joy during this time at home,” the Tournament said.

“We anticipated we would get around 50 submissions … but we were blown away by the response! We are pleased to announce that the Rosebud Parade featured over 200 submissions from Southern California, across the country and around the globe. These homemade entries weren’t just creative and fun; they are beautiful powerful and heartfelt symbols of what the Rose Parade is meant to be.”

The virtual Rosebud Parade was viewed by nearly 10,000 during its live Facebook broadcast. The full broadcast will be available to view at the Tournament of Roses YouTube page HERE.

The Tournament of Roses was proud to partner with Kidspace Children’s Museum and the Kidspace-At-Home initiative on the Rosebud Parade.
