The Tournament of Roses Association released its “Community Impact Report” on Thursday, outlining the organization’s charitable giving and community involvement in 2019.

The Tournament of Roses releases the report each year.

“Volunteerism and investing in our community are among the Pasadena Tournament of Roses’ cornerstones,” representatives said in a written statement.

“The Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game, two world-class events enjoyed by millions around the world, are the result of our spirit of giving put into action,” according to the statement. “Utilizing the highly visible platform of America’s New Year Celebration, we continue to invest and engage in communities at the local, regional, and national level.”

The organization focuses its efforts around enhancing opportunities for education, community investment, building on community business partnerships “and creating experiences that make a difference,” according to the statement.

“The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association is a vital community organization focused on positively impacting people through community involvement and charitable giving,” said Tournament of Roses Senior Director of Community Relations Carlos Illingworth, who also serves as director of the organization’s nonprofit arm, the Tournament of Roses Foundation.

“The association and the Tournament of Roses Foundation work together to strengthen engagement and drive social impact throughout the region,” Illingworth said.

Among the highlights of the report were $590,000 in annual donations to local organizations and individuals. The 2020 Rose Bowl Game brought in roughly $75.3 million to support universities in the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences, and the Tournament of Roses has contributed more than $1.3 billion to U.S. educational institutions in support of college athletics.
