A 31-year-old Pasadena resident was arrested for allegedly striking another man with a large stick shortly after 5 a.m. this morning, it was reported.
The suspect was identified as Gabriel Arroyo.
According to Lt. Chris Russ of the Pasadena Police Department, Arroyo was engaged in an argument with a 50-year-old black transient male at a homeless encampment located near West Drive and Salvia Canyon Road.
As the argument escalated, Arroyo allegedly picked up a large stick and struck the victim before fleeing the scene.
Officers later arrested Arroyo without incident. The suspect was armed with a knife, according to Russ, and will be facing assault with a deadly weapon charges.
