Two people were injured after a car flew off the I-210 freeway and landed on the northbound lanes of Rosemead Boulevard on Wednesday night.

The car may have been involved in a collision on the freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a report of a crash was received at 9:04 p.m. involving a black SUV and a silver Scion XB.

The CHP and Pasadena Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and a passenger in one of the vehicles was still inside the car when the firefighters arrived. A second passenger had already climbed out of the wreckage.

The CHP requested that Pasadena Police Department keep the area closed off until they could complete their measurements and gather more information.

Footage from the scene showed first responders, the heavily damaged car, and where the car went over the side. News media video also showed a large empty bottle of alcohol placed on the hood of the car.

The victims are believed to be a male and female, but this has not been confirmed.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The Pasadena Fire dept. That the victim extricated from the damaged car suffered “moderate” injuries.

The incident caused slow lanes to be blocked and damage to a guardrail, causing delays for motorists in the area.

The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash and is asking anyone with information to contact officials at 818-240-8200.
