[Updated Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 | 8:00 p.m.] [Note: An earlier report indicated two men had been shot. That was not correct.]   One man was shot in his head and another man – possibly the shooting victim’s brother – suffered an abrasion to his arm when a gunman fired at the car Tuesday afternoon.

Paramedics rushed the shooting to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, according to police.  Paramedics also transported the man with arm abrasion to an area hospital.
The man who suffered the abrasion reportedly called police about 2:10 p.m. – right after he and his brother drove away from an apartment on Holliston Avenue about 2 p.m., police said.
A tan-colored vehicle carrying two Latinos was seen leaving the area after the shooting, police said.
About 7 p.m., Maple Street between Holliston Avenue and Michigan has been reopened for vehicular traffic. Investigators are still working in the area and may have side streets closed down into the evening hours.
The containment is bounded by Holliston Avenue to the east, Chester Avenue to the west, Maple Street to the south and the Villa Street to the north.

Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said the shooting attack does not appear to be gang-related.

The investigation remains on-going and anyone with information is asked to contact the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241, or you may report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or http://lacrimestoppers.org (insert key word Pasadena).
