Congresswoman Judy Chu, who represents Pasadena and the 28th California District in the U.S. House of Representatives, is hosting a free health fair at the Pasadena Senior Center on Friday, March 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. The event will feature nonprofit organizations offering health and hearing screenings, as well as information on Medicare health plans and more.

As the 14th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act’s passage approaches on March 23, Rep. Chu, representing Pasadena and the West San Gabriel Valley and serving on the House Ways and Means Committee, will update attendees on legislation aimed at bolstering the health care system, Social Security, and Medicare.

Local and regional organizations such as Huntington Hospital, The Hear Center, Chinatown Service Center, Pacific Clinics, AltaMed, Pasadena Village, and other organizations and nonprofits are participating in the health fair.

The Pasadena Senior Center, located at 85 E. Holly Street, runs programs and services aimed at enhancing the lives of older adults throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Services include social interaction, fitness programs, support services, education, volunteerism, and community activism.

With a growing aging population, the center is ready to serve the needs and concerns of older adults by offering innovative programs recognized nationally. The center operates solely on donor support.
