Pasadena City College Online Registration Strains Under Capacity Popularity

Due to the overwhelming popularity of Pasadena City College’s Extended Spring classes, the school’s online registration system is at capacity at this time.

PCC has doubled the amount of students that can access the registration system, but demand has outpaced capacity. Students are encouraged to check the PCC Facebook (www.facebook.com/pasadenacitycollege) page and the PCC website (www.pasadena.edu) for ongoing updates on the current situation.

“There has been an incredible response from students wanting to take advantage of the addition of PCC’s Extended Spring,” said Dr. Robert Bell, PCC senior vice president and assistant superintendent for Academic and Student Affairs. “While we are happy to see such enthusiasm, it has caused the school’s registration system to reach maximum capacity. We understand the students’ frustration and are doing everything we can to help them register.”

PCC’s Extended Spring will be the last time the college will be operating under the antiquated Santa Rosa registration system. Starting with the summer term 2013, the college will be implementing LancerPoint – PCC’s new Administrative Information System that updates and improves the college’s 25-year old legacy system. It integrates college business processes into a single point of access for students, staff, and faculty, including student records, registration, and financial aid.

PCC looks forward to a more integrated, powerful and user-friendly system to help achieve its educational goals.
