USAID Awards Pasadena’s Tetra Tech $10 Million Contract for Endangered Species Protection in Vietnam

Tetra Tech, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded the Company a $10 million, single-award contract to reduce wildlife crime on endangered and threatened species in Vietnam.

Wildlife trafficking poses a serious threat to biodiversity in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam. Over the past several years, wildlife trafficking has risen at exponential rates, and experts predict that the most iconic endangered species will become extinct within the next decade. To combat extinction, Tetra Tech will work with the Government of Vietnam and other regional institutions through the Saving Species Program to reform legal and judiciary policy for the enforcement and prosecution of wildlife crime. Tetra Tech will help to promote an environment that supports the sustainability of endangered and endemic species, and reduces consumer demand for wildlife and wildlife products.

“At Tetra Tech we seek clear, sustainable solutions that improve the quality of life and minimize environmental impact,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO. “Over the past fifty years, we have focused on helping our clients address the most pressing water and environmental needs. We are pleased to continue these efforts by supporting USAID’s mission to reduce wildlife crime and conserve biodiversity in Vietnam.”
