The USC Pacific Asia Museum (PAM) in Pasadena, whose doors were closed to the public since March 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be holding a no-contact drive-thru donation center event on Saturday, April 4, to help medical professionals on the front lines.
Anyone wishing to donate medical-grade face masks, sanitizers, gloves, scrubs, face shields and even ventilators can just drive up into USC PAM’s parking lot on the Los Robles Ave. entrance, roll down your window and drop your donations into the marked bins for the appropriate item.
Later in the day, staff will load your donations into USC trucks and deliver them directly to its affiliate partners at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and USC’s Keck Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The drive-thru donation center will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at USC PAM’s parking, located at 46 N. Los Robles Ave. in Pasadena.
Other donations that will be accepted include cleaning supplies, gowns, shoe covers, goggles, nasal testing swabs, viral testing kits, powered air-purifying respirators and respirator hoods.
Last Monday, USC PAM said they were preparing stocks of medical gloves and protective foot coverings used by the museum’s collection specialists so they could be donated to USC hospital health workers.
“We want to help. And we know you probably want to help too,” said a post on USC PAM’s Facebook page inviting people to donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
