District 7 Councilmember and current Vice Mayor Andy Wilson said Thursday he will not run for re-election.
“I am looking forward to finishing out my term strong — fulfilling my duties as vice mayor while continuing to serve District 7,” Wilson told Pasadena Now early Thursday.
“I remain passionate about serving this amazing community. However, I believe there are other high impact ways to serve and am eager to explore and dedicate time to those organizations. Given the demands of serving on Council, I wasn’t able to do both.”
Earlier this week, Pasadena Planning Commission Vice Chair Jason Lyon announced he will run for the District 7 City Council seat in the June primary.
Wilson, who serves as Executive Director for The Alliance for Southern California Innovation, was first appointed to the City Council to fill a vacant seat in 2015, then elected as councilmember for District 7 in 2017.
