Victory Bible Church Introduces Bible Book Club of the Month, Gives Tips in Reading Bible

Victory Bible Church introduced the Bible Book Club of the Month to provide encouragement and guidelines for effective daily Bible reading.

Victory said through the Bible Book Club of the Month, the faithful will have a better understanding of the Christian faith through the reading of the Word of God and will gain a better understanding of the Bible’s precepts and purpose for a person’s life.

Although the Church said it welcomes comments, it added that the Bible Book of the Month Club is neither intended for an exhaustive study nor it is an online Bible class.

Victory advised the faithful to read from a translation which they can understand such as the New International Version (NIV) and the Revised Standard Version (RSV). The Church suggested a format called “3 O’s” , which means reading the passage three times on the same day or the next, that will be helpful to understand and retain the reading of the Bible:

• Read the passage first to get an overview…. get the big picture, what’s it all about?

• Read it the next time and try to outline it…record your impressions or questions.

• Read it a third time to own it. What’s it saying to you? How will you apply it?

Victory Bible Church was established in 1983 under the leadership and vision of Pastor James Edward Henry. Its first service was held at the Pasadena Civic Center on April 10th with 200 in attendance. Now, Victory grew from one service ministering to 200 people, to three services ministering to over 850 people per week. Victory’s Mission Field is expanded from Taiwan to include Japan, Haiti, Cambodia and India. It has also served over 9000 meals have been served to the homeless via Union Rescue Mission.
