The Pasadena Courthouse is at 300 East Walnut Street in Pasadena.

The Los Angeles Superior Court will allow participants in family law hearings to join remotely via video beginning March 1, it was announced Monday.

Presiding Judge Eric Taylor said video will be available for all family law matters other than child support hearings, which will continue to be conducted by telephone.

“The innovation of the LACourtConnect video platform will further expand the opportunity for litigants, counsel and witnesses to participate remotely in their family law proceedings to avoid in-person court appearances,” Taylor said, encouraging everyone to make use of the new technology.

Judicial approval will not be required for video appearances and audio appearances will also continue to be available for all hearings.

Scheduling for March hearings can begin Feb. 27 the Pasadena Courthouse and for courthouses in Chatsworth, Compton, Long Beach, Inglewood, the Antelope Valley, Pomona, Santa Monica, Torrance and Whittier and the Van Nuys East and downtown Los Angeles Stanley Mosk courthouses.

Advance scheduling is available up to two hours before the time of the hearing.
