This sermon was delivered by Rev. Scott Alvarez – Ministry Purpose Leader, Crescenta Valley Community Church, La Crescenta on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Scott Alvarez was born and raised in rural Nebraska (a Husker). He got his B.S. at Stanford and played baseball. He had a high-tech career before starting his own advertising production company. Rev. Scott Alvarez moved to L.A. to pursue the movie industry and produced the movie Down for Life, based on a true story about a Latina who escapes the gang life. He and his wife founded Celebrate Recovery, which led to them to joining the staff at Crescenta Valley Community Church as the Ministry Purpose Leader.
