Vote-By-Mail Drop Boxes Set Up Around the City

Published on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 | 10:54 am

As the state gears up for the Sept. 14 recall election of Gov. Gavin Newsom, vote-by-mail drop boxes have been installed at City Hall, and Brookside, Grant, Victory and Washington parks.

According to LAvote.net, there are more than 400 secure drop boxes located throughout Los Angeles County.

The boxes have been placed at the same locations they were placed at during the presidential election.

The L.A. County Registrar-Recorder’s Office began sending out vote-by-mail ballots to registered voters earlier this month. Voters can return their ballots by mail, or return their completed ballot at a ballot drop box,

No postage is required to return the ballot by mail. Ballots can be dropped off at vote centers next month.

Pasadena Transit will provide free rides on Election Day so that local residents can easily vote in the gubernatorial recall election.

Voters will be asked to answer two questions on the ballot: 1) Shall Gov. Gavin Newsom be recalled (removed) from the office of Governor? 2) Candidates to succeed Gavin Newsom as Governor if he is recalled (followed by a list of candidates to select from).

The county Registrar-Recorder’s Office worked with Pasadena’s City Clerk last year to determine convenient and accessible locations for the boxes.
