Pasadena Area Community College District Board of Trustees candidate Alton Wang proclaimed victory in the race for the PCC Trustee Area 7 seat on Tuesday.

After trailing incumbent Anthony Fellow, Wang’s fortunes changed over the past week and his lead continued to grow in the latest update released on Tuesday.

Wang currently holds 51.21% of the vote.

“I am humbled and honored by the support from voters in Arcadia and Temple City in entrusting our campaign to put student success first and bring a new voice for positive change to Pasadena City College. As a son of immigrants born and raised in this community, I am particularly proud that we ran a positive, issues-focused campaign that reflects our community’s values – without resorting to attacks or deception.

Area 7, includes parts of Arcadia and Temple City.

Challengers are looking for a clean sweep of the incumbents on the race after successfully connecting the board to PCC President Erika Endrijonas.

Endrijonas received a vote of no-confidence earlier this year.

“As an incoming Trustee, I look forward to being an accessible and responsive representative working with our students, faculty, and community members alike to ensure that everyone can access an affordable, high-quality public education – and move our community forward, together.”

In PCC Trustee Area 3 race Steve Gibson has held a lock on the race against incumbent Berlinda Brown since the first round of vote-counting while Kristine Kwong edged out incumbent Linda Wah in Area 5.
