Woman Killed, Man Critical Following Collision With Light Standard

[Updated 11:53 a.m.]   A woman died after the Toyota Camry she was driving slammed into a light pole in Pasadena early Sunday, while a man riding as a passenger in the car was hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.

The deadly crash took place about 3 a.m. in the 2100 block of Orange Grove Boulevard, just west of Craig Avenue, according to Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins.

Paramedics the driver, described as a 23-year-old Pasadena woman, dead at the scene, he said.

The passenger, described as a 26-year-old Altadena man, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said.

No other vehicles were believed to have been involved in the crash, Hawking said.

The identity of the driver was not released pending notification of family members by coroner’s officials.
