Pasadena police are investigating a strong arm robbery that occurred in the Brookside Park parking lot near the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center on Wednesday, July 5 at 1:35 p.m.

Pasadena police Tim Bundy said the victim, a woman in her twenties, was dropped off by an Uber driver near the front of the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in lot I of the Brookside Park car park area. As she was walking north through the parking lot she saw a silver sedan.

The vehicle approached her and a man got out of the passenger side. He told the victim, “This is your wrong day,” punched her in the chin and face, and took her purse from her arm, according to Bundy.

The suspect ran off north through the parking lot while the suspect vehicle exited onto Arroyo Boulevard and drove north.

Bundy said the victim suffered bruises on the left side of her chin but declined medical treatment.

There were no arrests. No weapons were used. The woman’s purse and its contents were not recovered.

Bundy said there were two suspects but police have little information about them. One was said to be a Black man in his thirties and the car’s driver, possibly a Black woman.
