YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley Now Offers a Series of Nutrition and Exercise Classes: YWCA Fun & Fit

The YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley announced today that they will start offering a series of nutrition and exercise classes in a series they call: YWCA Fun & Fit. The classes will be offered at our facility, located at 1200 North Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena. The classes will be offered weekly on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm. YWCA FUN & Fit series includes Zumba, Line Dancing, Martial Arts, Yoga, Pilates and the highly talked about, Insanity.

“With so many news stories focused on obesity, we feel it’s best to serve our community by offering affordable and economical fitness classes. So many gyms over charge and lock people into annual contracts, we wanted to offer an alternative: a low cost series of classes with no commitment. We have received lots of interest in the classes and we are excited to offer them at our facility,” says Karen Draine, YWCA Program Manager.

The YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley has sparked new conversations in the community because of their new programs and largely attended events. In addition to this series, the YWCA offers several programs throughout the year. Those programs include: Girls Empowerment Camp, Just for Girls, Tech Gyrls, Adult Computer Class, ENCOREPlus (mobile mammograms), YWCA Honors, YWCA Week Without Violence, Women for Racial Justice Breakfast, Women’s Leadership and Networking Day and now, Fun & Fit.

“We feel our programs offer variety for today’s women and girls. By offering programs that promote health and fitness, as well as women’s empowerment, we are able to speak to the women in our neighborhoods. We listen to the needs of Pasadena residents and offer programs that benefit the well being of our communities,” says Tamika Farr, YWCA Executive Director.
