For more than 65 years, the Altadena/Pasadena Chapter (Eta Lambda Omega) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has served the community through a legacy of education, service, and opportunity. In partnership with the Altadena/Pasadena Ivy Foundation, the chapter will host its annual scholarship fundraiser, “ROOTED: Where Legacy Takes Root,” on Saturday, May 9 at Almansor Court in Alhambra. The event will bring together community members and supporters to celebrate local students and raise funds for scholarships benefiting youth in Pasadena and Altadena. Guests can expect an inspiring afternoon of connection and recognition, honoring five local scholarship recipients. As parts of the Altadena community continue to rebuild, this year’s event carries added significance, highlighting the importance of investing in the next generation. This year’s program will feature special recognition of Community Icon, former California Assemblymember Chris Holden (@AssemblymemberChrisHolden), and will be hosted by award-winning media veteran and community advocate Dr. Ray Cunningham (@missterray804). With education at the heart of its mission, the Pasadena/Altadena Ivy Foundation provides financial support to students pursuing higher education, helping to open doors and create lasting opportunities. Proceeds from the brunch will directly benefit the foundation’s scholarship programs. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the link above.
