This special event\u2014distinct from the Observatory\u2019s regular concert series &#8211; features acclaimed musicians Tim Durkovic, Ambroise Aubrun, and C\u00e9cilia Tsan performing a refined program including Amy Beach\u2019s Romance for violin &amp; piano, Gabriel Faur\u00e9\u2019s \u00c9l\u00e9gie for cello &amp; piano, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2019s Trio in E-flat Major, K.502, and Johannes Brahms\u2019s Trio in C minor, Op. 101. Centered around a beautifully restored 1907 piano &#8211; generously donated by Dr. James Vail and revitalized through community support &#8211; the evening celebrates the revival of a historic instrument alongside the Observatory\u2019s legacy of discovery, drawing a parallel between scientific innovation and musical expression. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the piano\u2019s ongoing care as well as the Observatory\u2019s broader music initiatives, helping sustain high-caliber performances, expand artistic programming, and continue blending the wonder of sound with the site\u2019s rich scientific heritage.
