A Campus Transformed by Creativity: Flintridge Prep’s Biannual Art Show

The walls were transformed this Tuesday as Flintridge Preparatory School students unveiled their latest work at the school’s biannual art show, showcasing projects from three core disciplines—painting and drawing, ceramics, and photography—across all grade levels.

“Unlike schools that might have simple hallway displays,” says Ricardo, visual arts department chair, “Flintridge Prep treats student exhibitions professionally. The emphasis on creation through curation and exhibition, mounting their work, printing photographs, framing pieces, designing wall layouts, and writing statements — sets the program apart. Students are learning to be artists, with agency over how their work is presented and shared. This hands-on involvement gives them ownership of the event and professional skills they can use in college or future creative pursuits.”

The exhibition not only highlights the breadth of student talent but also reflects Flintridge Prep’s commitment to fostering artistic voice, confidence, and real-world experience through thoughtfully curated creative opportunities.
