A Lasting Tribute: Maranatha Gala Unveils Mural Celebrating School’s Journey

One of the most memorable highlights of this year’s Maranatha High School Gala was the unveiling of a remarkable, hand-painted mural by former art teacher Kay Rouse. The piece beautifully captures the school’s journey through the years, illustrating its path from six different campuses to its current permanent home in Pasadena.

Created with thoughtful detail and care, the mural reflects not only the history of Maranatha but also the deep connection Rouse has maintained with the community. Known for her years of faithful service and artistic influence, her work brings both meaning and emotion to the canvas, making the unveiling a particularly moving moment during the event.

The mural is set to be permanently displayed in the school’s Student Center, where it will serve as a visual reminder of Maranatha’s rich legacy. Students, families, and alumni will have the opportunity to reflect on the school’s 60-year journey—marked by growth, perseverance, and faith – while looking ahead to the future still unfolding.
