ABVM 2023 Odyssey of the Mind Team
Odyssey of the Mind is an international academic extracurricular competition that challenges students to work in collaborative teams to solve complex problems. Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (ABVM) Odyssey of the Mind Teams, has distinguished itself in this competition under the guidance of parent coaches. ABVM has achieved remarkable success, being crowned 10-time Regional Champions and 4-time State Champions (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023). Their accomplishments also include competing in the World Finals multiple times, with several top-15 placements.
In 2023, the ABVM team won the State Championship and placed 11th at the World Finals in Michigan, competing against teams from around the globe. Assumption teams have consistently excelled, securing first place at LA Regionals 10 times and placing in the top 15 at World Championships in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

The 2022 season saw ABVM teams placing 1st and 3rd at the State Championships and 8th at the World Finals. Assumption’s dedication to Odyssey of the Mind is evident, with students consistently performing well at both regional and state levels. In 2020, they dominated the LA Regional competition, sending five teams to the State Championships. In 2019, the ABVM 8th-grade team won the State Championship, marking their first-ever participation in the World Championships.
