Alverno Jaguars Open Track Season With Strong Performances at Falcon Invitational

At Alverno Heights Academy, the spring athletics season is already off to a commanding start, as the school’s track and field team delivered a series of standout performances at the Falcon Invitational—an early meet that showcased both individual excellence and team depth across multiple events.

The Jaguars opened their season with a strong showing highlighted by speed, precision, and competitive poise. The team captured gold in the 100-meter dash and followed with another first-place finish in the A Boys 4×100-meter relay. The relay victory underscored the team’s coordination and depth, signaling a promising season ahead.

In the field events, Alverno athletes continued to perform at a high level. The team secured both gold and silver in the A Girls long jump, demonstrating a strong presence and competitive edge in the event. These results reflected both technical skill and early-season form that could position the Jaguars strongly in upcoming competitions.

The B Boys division delivered equally notable results. Alverno claimed first place in the javelin, with an additional podium finish in third place, rounding out a strong showing in the event. The team also earned gold in the shot put, demonstrating versatility across throwing events and contributing valuable points to the overall team performance.

On the girls’ side, the Jaguars earned a first-place finish in the B Girls long jump, along with a third-place result. These athletes also delivered strong performances on the track, placing second and fourth, respectively, in the 400-meter race—further highlighting the team’s balance between field and track events.

The Falcon Invitational results offer an early indication of the Jaguars’ potential this season, with multiple podium finishes across a range of disciplines. Coaches and supporters point to the team’s depth, versatility, and competitive drive as key strengths moving forward.

The Jaguars will look to build on this momentum when they compete at the Raider Relays this Saturday at Bishop Amat Memorial High School, where they will face a new field of competitors and continue to test their early-season form.

With a strong opening meet behind them, Alverno Heights Academy’s track and field program appears poised for a season defined by growth, achievement, and continued success.
