“Student leadership is one of the greatest opportunities we can offer our young people,” said Principal Robert Bringas Jr. “Our Student Council members lead by example through faith, integrity, and service, inspiring their classmates to make a positive difference in our school and community. I am proud of each of these students and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish this year.”

“Student Council provides our students with an incredible opportunity to grow as leaders while learning the importance of service, teamwork, and responsibility,” said Ms. Ostrander, Student Moderator at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School. “Watching our students step forward, share their ideas, and work together to make our school community stronger is truly inspiring. These leadership experiences help students build confidence while living out our Catholic values of faith, kindness, and service to others.”

Student Council provides students with meaningful opportunities to develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and servant leadership while learning the importance of collaboration, responsibility, and service. Guided by the school’s motto, Learn. Pray. Become., ABVM encourages students to use their God-given talents to serve others and become compassionate leaders both on campus and in the greater community.

“I am honored to serve as Student Council President and represent my classmates this year,” said Mia Esquivel, eighth-grade Student Council President. “I am excited to work with our Student Council team to create fun experiences, encourage school spirit, and help make ABVM a place where every student feels welcomed and included. I hope we can inspire others to get involved, serve our community, and make this a memorable school year.”

The beginning of the school year marks a time of new opportunities for students, families, and educators. Through rigorous academics, faith formation, athletics, visual and performing arts, leadership experiences, and service opportunities, ABVM continues to prepare students to become confident, compassionate, and responsible leaders.

“Our goal is to provide an environment where every student feels supported, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential,” Bringas said. “Student Council helps make that vision a reality by encouraging leadership, service, school pride, and a spirit of collaboration that benefits our entire school community.”
