Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School Celebrates Successful Summer Gator Camp

After five weeks of hands-on learning, creative exploration, and outdoor fun, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School (ABVM) is celebrating another successful Summer Gator Camp. The program welcomed more than 30 campers from Pasadena and neighboring communities for a season of enrichment, friendship, and faith-filled fun. Open to children in Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade, Summer Gator Camp provided a safe, engaging environment where students could continue learning, build new friendships, and make lasting summer memories.
Throughout the summer, campers enjoyed a wide variety of activities designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and personal growth. From arts and crafts and outdoor recreation to educational enrichment and themed experiences, Summer Gator Camp provided children with opportunities to discover new interests, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

One of this summer’s highlights was Cosmic Quest Week, during which campers became young archaeologists as they explored “space rocks” and uncovered hidden gems. Another favorite was Aqua Fest Week, featuring a giant waterslide and water-filled activities that helped everyone beat the summer heat. Campers also eagerly anticipated Friday Fun Day Field Trips, which included adventures to Ultra Zone Laser Tag and the El Capitan Theatre, where they enjoyed Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5. These exciting experiences allowed campers to strengthen friendships, build confidence, and create unforgettable summer memories beyond the classroom.
The success of this year’s program was led by Summer Gator Camp Director Myrna Anderson, whose leadership and dedication helped create a welcoming environment where every camper felt supported, encouraged, and inspired to grow.
“Summer Gator Camp is about so much more than keeping children engaged during the summer,” Anderson said. “It’s about creating a place where every camper feels welcomed, builds confidence, discovers new talents, and forms friendships that can last a lifetime. Watching our campers grow, laugh, and support one another each day has been the greatest reward. I am incredibly grateful to our dedicated counselors, staff, and families for making this summer such a joyful and memorable experience.”

ABVM also recognizes its outstanding team of counselors and staff members, whose enthusiasm, kindness, creativity, and commitment made Summer Gator Camp a memorable experience for so many families. Their teamwork reflected the school’s mission of fostering faith, academic excellence, compassionate service, and a joyful community where every child can thrive.
“Summer Gator Camp reflects the very best of our Assumption community,” said Principal Robert Bringas Jr. “Under Mrs. Anderson’s outstanding leadership, our campers experienced a summer filled with joy, learning, faith, and friendship. We are grateful to our counselors, staff, and families for creating an environment where every child feels valued and encouraged. We look forward to welcoming our students back for another wonderful school year.”
As the school prepares for the start of the 2026–2027 academic year, the memories created during Summer Gator Camp serve as another reminder of the strong sense of community that has defined Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary School for generations. The friendships formed, confidence gained, and experiences shared throughout the summer reflect the caring, faith-filled environment families can expect throughout the school year.

Enrollment is now open for the 2026–2027 school year.
