Aveson Seniors Embark on Rite of Passage Journey to Ecuador and the Galápagos

Aveson Schools’s 11th and 12th-grade Rite of Passage journey to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands is officially underway! Students are currently in the Amazon rainforest, about five hours from Quito, where they’ve begun their epic adventure. After a full day of travel, including a stop at a hot springs resort and lunch along the way, the group arrived at Casa del Suizo, a beautiful lodge reached by boat. They’ll be based here for the next two days as students explore and learn within one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. They also visited an Amazon animal sanctuary, went tubing in the river, and visited a cacao farm to learn how chocolate is made from bean to bar! Keep the snaps coming, world travelers!
