Blair High School Students Visit Caltech
The Caltech grad students go over what might be in the various Winogradsky column layers that the Blair students created last fall, and explained how to sample them.
Blair High School thanks Caltech for hosting 75 of its IB Biology HL juniors and seniors yesterday! The Vikings examined under a microscope the contents of the Winogradsky columns that Caltech grad students set up with them at Blair last fall, and also got tours of campus, introductions to some aquatic animals, and presentations on careers in microbiology and geobiology!
Caltech grad students give the Blair students lab tours and talk about what they do here for their research.
Blair students create slides, sampling from different layers of the Winogradsky columns, and label the slides before they look at them under a microscope.
