Blair’s Advanced Band Wins First at Festival

The hard work of Blair High School’s Advanced Band students and its instructor Mr. Michael Birnbryer paid off with a first place win!

On Fri. Apr. 15, the band competed in the Judges Invitational Forum Music Festival held at Disneyland, and won first place in their division, High School Wind Ensemble.

Student music groups must first place at the Gold level at a Forum Music Festival to be invited to the Judges Invitational. This is our Blair band’s first time to be invited, and on their first competition at this level they won!

The students–and Mr. Birnbryer–celebrated their Festival competition experience on the rides at Disneyland.

For more information on the instrumental music program at Blair, or to get involved, contact Mr. Birnbryer.
