BoscoTech’s Rising Seniors Lopez and Rodriguez Interns at JMDiaz, Inc.
Bosco Tech’s Rising seniors Matthew Lopez (IDEA) and Juan Pablo Rodriguez (ACE) are interning this summer with JMDiaz, Inc. (JMD), a full service transportation planning and civil engineering corporation specializing in highways, land development, traffic and rail projects.
Founded by Tech alumnus Juan Diaz, MBA, PE (Building Technology ’82) in 2001, JMD has a regional office in the City of Industry and a staff of 22.
Mr. Diaz shared “Juan Pablo and Matthew are working together in the design of a residential site for a two-story home to expand their knowledge of architectural design, focused on visual appeal, with vital civil engineering design, to provide proper access and drainage of the site and building. This effort includes surveying, site plan development and design of plans, specifications and estimate for the project.”
“Matthew and Juan Pablo are such a joy to have in the office,” added JMD Project Coordinator Jasmine Felix. “We have had the pleasure of celebrating both of their birthdays, in which Juan Diaz brought out his vihuela and sang ‘Happy Birthday.’ They have attended a few meetings and are learning about meeting etiquette, field safety and how to present. Most recently, as mentioned by Juan, they have been learning to use field equipment and how to survey.”
“Many thanks to the good folks at JMD for this incredible experience and for making Matthew and Juan Pablo so at home there!”
