California Legislative Black Caucus’ African-American Leaders for Tomorrow Deadline to Apply is June 30

The 2021 African-American Leaders for Tomorrow (AALT) Program is a three-day long summer program that is held virtually on Zoom in partnership with California State University Dominquez Hills (CSUDH) Dymally Institute.

Participants will be hand selected to receive leadership training and attend panels on topics such as the legislative process and civic engagement. Program materials will be mailed and provided at no cost to the participants. There will be a certificate and special prize for the students that complete and participate in the whole program.

Application Requirements:

California high school sophomores or juniors with a 2.5 or higher GPA and are in good academic standing as of January 1, 2021 are eligible to apply. Applicants must also:

• Demonstrate leadership potential (i.e. involvement in student government, community leadership or
similar activities)
• Provide current high school transcript
• Submit one letter of recommendation
• Submit two essays
• Submit a photo

Deadlines:
June 30, 2021 – Application deadline, 8 PM
July 1 – 8, 2021 – Review and selection process
July 9, 2021 – Students notified via email by 9 PM
July 21 – 23, 2021 – The webinar conference will be held via Zoom

Note:
All conference participants are required to be professionally dressed and have their cameras on during the program.
