“Celebrating Our Lady of Guadalupe”: Holy Family School’s First Spanish Mass

¡Que viva la Virgen de Guadalupe! Each month, Holy Family School (South Pasadena, CA) grades take turns hosting an all-school Mass on a particular Feast day. This year, a new school tradition was born! The 7th-grade class hosted their November All-School Mass entirely in Spanish on Thursday, December 12th, in honor of the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Over the last month or so, all grades TK – 8th practiced their prayers, readings, Mass responses, and music in Spanish. Mariachi Las Catrinas led the music for the Mass. Following this beautiful Mass, students were treated to pan dulce and more music by the Mariachis in the school’s Outdoor Learning Center.

“At Holy Family Catholic School, we passionately instill Christian values and Catholic principles in our students, guiding them through the Gospel message of Jesus Christ: Faith, Community, Service, and Excellence. These principles are the foundation of our community and the essence of our mission.”
