Celebrating Special Retirements at Chandler School

Will Salmon and Terry Orth

Last Friday afternoon in the Ahmanson Performing Arts Center, the Chandler community turned out to celebrate the retirements of two very special teachers, Will Salmon and Terry Orth.

Will has dedicated 27 years to teaching music at Chandler, inspiring students with his creativity and passion for musical expression. Terry poured herself into every well-crafted lesson plan for 17 years of teaching second grade. As John Finch noted to laughter, “There could not be two more opposite people, and we are so lucky to have counted you both as our colleagues and teachers.”

With flowers, cake and a framed Gold Album of Will’s classic song, Pasadena New Year, Chandler’s veteran teachers were sent off with the well wishes of their colleagues, students, former students and past parents. Chandler School expresses its thank to Terry and Will. They will always have a second home at Chandler School.
