Chandler Middle School Students Enjoy the Gift of Giving at Head Start Preschools

Chandler Middle School students finished first-semester final exams on Wednesday, and marked that milestone with a day dedicated to the needs of others: Head Start preschool children. For over ten years, Chandler students have been volunteering with Pasadena Head Start preschools.

Each student in grades six, seven and eight brought several wrapped gifts for their preschool pals. Parents provided transportation to neighborhood Head Start centers, where many Chandler students also volunteer during the school year through an elective class.

Chandler students spent the morning playing and drawing in classrooms and then running around on the playground with their young friends. Afterward, students returned to campus for more service learning projects.
