Chandler School is proud to announce that three of its middle school students received accolades in the 2025 “Sí Se Puede” Youth Essay Contest, an annual event presented by the Formative Youth Journalism Initiative and the Pasadena Media Foundation.

This year’s contest invited young writers to reflect on significant issues facing their communities—ranging from natural disasters to political unrest and global crises—through the lens of César Chávez’s enduring legacy and the transformative power of perseverance.

Chandler celebrates the achievements of the following students for their compelling and thoughtful essays:

• Luke C. ’25 – 2nd Place
• Destin C. ’25 – 3rd Place
• Lylah Kim ’27 – Honorable Mention

Their insightful work serves as a testament to the strength of youth voices and the impact of civic reflection. Chandler School congratulates these students on their recognition and applauds their commitment to meaningful storytelling. ¡Sí Se Puede!
