Chandler’s Big Service Day Shows Off Big Hearts

Saturday’s Big Service Day event at Chandler School showcased the community’s generosity and compassion. The whole-school tradition is marked by a major donation drive in the weeks preceding Big Service Day, and ends with a hands-on Saturday of service to others.

Chandler families donated generously; parent and alumni volunteers turned out in force; the Clovers’ (service group) first bake sale was wildly popular; the Middle School Arts Honor Society students ran a card-making activity; many staff and faculty pitched in for set up and to lend their talents at various stations; and everyone who participated on Saturday gave of their time and efforts to help at-risk youth and homeless families.

Together, Chandler’s community sent My Friend’s Place more than 150 nutritious lunches, and a van full of art supplies, cards, letters, magazines and more. We gave Union Station more than 150 hygiene kits, plus Valentines, granola bars and more.
