Commissioned Writer and Acclaimed Poet Azure Antoinette to Speak at Baccalaureate at Prestigious All Girl College-Prep High School in Southern California

Alverno High School, a prominent private all-girl institution has selected Azure Antoinette to deliver the keynote address at this year’s Baccalaureate ceremony for their 2012 graduating seniors. Baccalaureate Mass will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Saint Rita’s Church (318 N Baldwin Avenue, Sierra Madre). Following the ceremony, Antoinette will be hosting the Baccalaureate Ball that will take place in Alverno’s Hollywood famous Villa del Sol d’Oro located on campus for close family to celebrate and honor the graduates’ achievement. The graduation commencement speech will be delivered by Dr. Wanda Austin, President and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, on June 8, 2012.

Azure Antoinette, a poet Oprah hand selected for the first-ever poetry issue of O Magazine and commissioned writer for clients such as Maria Shriver and Beats By Dr. Dre, has dedicated her time to educating the youth on the power of using their own voice through creative expression. Antoinette is the creator of STUDIO:alchemy, which is the creative house for her in/after school programs. STUDIO:alchemy provides custom workshops on the themes of spoken word, performance poetry and the use of social media. STUDIO:alchemy is currently operating its curriculum in 13 high schools across the country.
