Crestview Debate Team Shines at Year’s First Tournament, Secures Top Honors

Crestview Preparatory School’s debate team had an impressive showing at their first tournament of the year, held at the Wise School in Los Angeles. Competing against over 120 skilled debaters from nine schools, Crestview debaters delivered standout performances, earning individual and team accolades.

Ellis L. captured 1st place and the coveted “Gavel” award as the tournament’s top individual speaker, with Colin K. following closely in 2nd place. Eliana W. and Ethan K. also earned individual recognition, finishing 26th and 30th, respectively, and the team of Colin K., Eliana W., and Karl V. ranked 7th overall.

Regardless of the outcome of any given round, Crestview debaters represented themselves admirably throughout the day. Their commitment to mutual support, respect for opponents, and perseverance stood out just as much as their impressive results. The camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by the team reflect the core values of Crestview and set a strong foundation for a successful season ahead.
