De La Torre-Beltran Awarded LEARNS Site Coordinator of the Year for PUSD

Madison Elementary School would like to extend a warm congratulations to its very own Dolores De La Torre Beltran, for being awarded the LEARNS Site Coordinator of the year for PUSD! This award is given to just three outstanding site coordinators yearly. And the candidates are determined by the LEARNs central office, which consists of the Area leader, Expanded learning coordinator, and project director. The award’s criteria is selective, and takes into consideration a coordinator’s leadership ability, their communication skills, their outcomes with community members, students, and parents, their focus, and their school’s support and feedback. How they have developed their own vision while balancing and maintaining district policies simultaneously, is also taken into great consideration. Those awarded are builders and cultivators of their school’s mission!

“I feel so honored and very happy to receive this award!”

Ms. Dolores was led to her current role through her passion for working with children. She started off as a youth leader herself 12 years ago, and was promoted due to her hard work and dedication. She is now the site coordinator for our LEARNs program here at Madison, which encompasses over 200 students. She holds a liberal studies Bachelor’s degree and is currently working towards her Master’s degree and teaching credential, although she aims to keep her focus on the administrative side, as she hopes to impact as many students and families as possible through her work. She is a product of PUSD herself and aims to continue to make a difference in the community that has continued to support and welcome her throughout her career. Dolores would like to thank her team here at Madison for teaching her so much and helping her carry her vision for the program each and every day!
