Distance Learning at Poly

As of March 16, Polytechnic School is conducting distance learning for all K-12 students. Following is an overview of Poly’s distance learning approach and resources for students, parents, and guardians specific to Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.

What is Distance Learning?

In response to COVID-19 and state and local government and health agency recommendations, Polytechnic School students have engaged in distance learning. Distance learning entails the facilitation of our program and curriculum through a variety of synchronous and asynchronous tools and modalities. During these unprecedented times, we are committed to fostering the community of learning that we are known for, and to ensuring the success of our students in completing the school year. Distance learning will never wholly replace the experience of our program and community, but it will allow students to continue to move forward in their academic studies and nurture relationships with peers and trusted adults.

In the upcoming months, our goal, above all, is to provide stability, continuity, and community for all Poly students and families. While there will be challenges, we know that these will be met and serve as meaningful experiences for learning and growth. Knowing that our focus is on the well-being of our students and adult community, we anticipate ongoing reflection and adjustments to our distance learning plan.
