Dual Language Immersion Programs Featured in California Bilingual Teacher Development Series

On February 24 and 25, 2026, instructional coaches and administrators from throughout Southern California visited Monterey Hills Elementary School and Marengo Elementary School as part of the California Bilingual Teacher Professional Development Program.
Principals Jessica Zavala and Noelle Fong shared detailed presentations about the SPUSD Spanish and Mandarin programs. Attendees participated in classroom observations and guided discussions that deepen understanding and support strong implementation of these programs.
SPUSD is proud of its exemplary dual language immersion programs. Thank you to the administrators, teachers, and staff who work so hard every day to educate our students.
