Offensively, Marshall delivered a powerful showing at the plate. Emma Detwiler led the charge with a flawless performance, going 5-for-5 while driving in four runs, scoring three times, and adding a stolen base—marking a new personal best. Eunice Velazquez matched the momentum with a perfect 4-for-4 outing, also contributing four RBIs, three runs, and a stolen base. Marshall’s offensive depth was evident, as the team consistently found ways to get on base and capitalize on scoring opportunities. Their overall batting performance remained strong, continuing a season-long trend of high productivity at the plate.
On defense, Roselyn Estrella-Salmeron stepped into a less familiar role on the mound and delivered a composed performance, while Ashley Sandoval anchored the defense behind the plate with confidence and control. The pairing proved effective, hinting at a promising dynamic for future matchups.
With this latest win, the Eagles improve their record to 6-2, adding to an already impressive season that includes multiple victories by wide margins. The team’s ability to repeatedly deliver high-scoring performances signals not just momentum, but a growing belief that this season could be something special.
Looking ahead, Marshall is set to begin league play with a matchup against rival El Monte, while Bassett will aim to regroup as they face La Puente. As the Eagles continue their campaign, their recent performances suggest that they are not only meeting expectations – but raising them.
