Eliot Arts Magnet School and Altadena Arts Magnet Need Your Help!

To honor COVID victims and all those deeply affected by the pandemic, both Eliot Arts Magnet and Altadena Arts Magnet will be creating a joint art installation of 2000 paper cranes, 1000 cranes per campus. In traditional Japanese culture, cranes are thought to carry souls to heaven on their wings, and it is believed that if you make 1000 cranes, your wish will be granted.

Eliot students started making cranes in the Spring of 2021, and are almost at 1000. “We need the help of Altadena families to reach our goal of making an additional 1000 cranes!” If your family can help fold cranes at home, you can pick up origami paper at Altadena Elementary, and there will be a box placed in the lobby where you can drop them off. If you have origami paper at home, please make sure the paper is sized at 6″ x6″
