Fermentation Basics at a Barnhart School Science Class

Barnhart 7th Graders recently learned about fermentation! They were able to inflate balloons using yeast and sugar, which produced carbon dioxide. The basic aim of science education among young students is to assist them to achieve scientific literacy. Scientifically literate people are interested in and understand the world around them; engage in discussions of and about science; are able to identify questions, investigate, and draw evidence-based conclusions; be skeptical and questioning of claims made by others about scientific matters; and make informed decisions about the environment and their own health and well-being.
