Flintridge Prep 7th Graders See Design Thinking At Work At YouBar Factory

Flintridge Preparatory School’s 7th grade Design Thinking class visited YouBar in the City of Industry to see how machines and robots can be used for large-scale packaged goods production. YouBar was founded by Prep alums Anthony Flynn ’02 and his brother Dennis ’05, along with their sister Emily, whose son will start at Prep in the fall.

The factory is reminiscent of a healthy Willy Wonka factory that develops and manufactures delicious and nutritious baked goods. The founders gave the students a behind-the-scenes tour around the test kitchen and factory, where thousands of healthy, protein-filled toaster pastries were being baked and packaged.

The students loved seeing design thinking in action, as well as playing with the dough and sampling the treats!
