Flintridge Prep Parents Internship Network Students Move on to Successful Careers

In 2019, Willow Scott ’17 and Kim Cheng ’16 both interned at the Los Angeles City Administrative Office after finding the opportunity on the Prep Parents Internship Network (PIN) website. Willow and Kim worked together with city officials on updating LA’s policy on leasing city properties to nonprofits. “The internship gave me an inside look at how our local government functions on a day-to-day basis, and allowed me to work with various council districts and NGOs,” says Willow, who’s studying international relations at Fordham University.

Kim, who graduated with a business administration degree from Boston University, added that while she’s still figuring out her future, the internship was a great learning experience: “It was fascinating to learn about how one office works within a bigger organism, and about how the government that runs the city we live in, and the struggles that we face.”
