Flintridge Preparatory School: Self-Care Winter 2020

“Since most of us are teaching, learning, and working from home, we’re missing out on those transition routines, psychologist Dr. Kimberly Prater says, that help with the work-life balance. Whether it was listening to the radio on the drive home, calling a friend, or putting your laptop away and out of sight, we all need, now more than ever, to take breaks and set bookends around our days.”

On this day, Flintridge Preparatory School (FPS) hope students, teachers, and parents can take a moment to find 20-30 minutes (or longer!) to actively detach from the day’s work and revisit those transition routines that help calm and center you. Take a walk. Play with your pet. Listen to NPR. Meditate. Take a nap.

Whatever it is, FPS hope that it brings some serenity to your day. The school thanks the Prep fireplace for its cameo.
